Exact soil calculation
See cubic feet, cubic yards, litres and common bag counts without converting measurements by hand.
Create a visual planting grid, estimate how many vegetables fit, calculate soil volume and turn the result into bag counts and cost.
Start with the bed size, choose a crop and tap the grid. Every square represents approximately one square foot, or 30 ร 30 cm.

A useful raised-bed plan answers three questions before planting: how much growing space is available, how much soil is required and how far apart the mature plants should be. This tool combines those calculations so the layout and shopping estimate stay connected.
A bed should be narrow enough to reach the centre without stepping on the soil. Many home vegetable beds are around 3โ4 feet wide, while length can be adapted to the space. Bed depth depends on the crop and whether roots can continue into the ground below.
Seedlings look small, but crowded mature plants can compete for light and airflow. Use the crop spacing in the planner as a starting point, then check the variety on the seed packet. Trellises can free horizontal space, but they can also cast shade.
Fresh soil settles after watering. The bag calculator includes an adjustable reserve so you can account for settling, uneven ground and small measuring errors.
It depends on the mature spacing. Large plants may use one square, medium crops often use four or nine positions, and small roots can use sixteen positions. The planner displays the density for every crop.
Yes. Select metres and centimetres. The visual layout still uses an approximately 30 ร 30 cm planning grid, while the soil calculation uses the exact dimensions entered.
The soil calculator multiplies volume and growing area by the number of beds. The visual grid represents one bed layout, which can be printed or duplicated.
The Save button stores it in local browser storage on the current device. A share link contains a compact copy of the plan in the URL.
